PRINCIPALS
WAYNE LANDON, P.E.
BIO
Husband of Gloria, Father of Stuart and Rachel, Son of Ralph and MaryAnna, I was raised in Catoosa, Oklahoma - and received a B.S. Chemical Engineering from The University of Oklahoma.
The first 7 years of my career were spent working as an operations engineer in the chemical business on the Texas Gulf Coast - responsible for daily operations, meeting budgets and production targets. I wanted to try my hand at process engineering - and Phillips Petroleum was hiring process engineers in their Corporate Engineering department. I excitedly took the job offer, headed to Bartlesville, Oklahoma - and had the opportunity to receive some of the best on the job training from some of the best process engineers in the world. We built gas plants, expanded others and troubleshooted operations. The Phillips Natural Gas business unit asked me to come work learn the business - and I had the opportunity to work in several groups - project development, gas contracting, business services (accounting, laboratory, measurement and procurement), engineering, field supervision and operations support.
Along with process design and project development, I developed a passion for process improvement - and I spent a significant portion of my career with Phillips and its spin-offs, GPM, DEFS and DCP Midstream, working with management and field personnel identifying and eliminating the things that negatively impacted their operation. While many of the issues that needed attention were technical, there were also opportunities for improvements in safety, environmental and business processes. Improvements were always found that could improve the safety of the workplace, environmental compliance and increase cash flow - and often with little need for capital.
Looking to expand my skills and capabilities, I went to work for Subsurface Technology - a consultancy of geologists and engineers that assisted their clients with the design, permitting, construction, testing, repair and operation of caverns and injection wells. Most recently, I worked for ConocoPhillips - developing and designing midstream projects.
